Mandatory Drug Testing for Athletes: What’s Your Opinion?

Like many school systems, the “Hall County School System believes that the use and abuse of alcohol and drugs that have not been prescribed for medical benefit can be detrimental to the physical, emotional, and mental health of their student-athletes.” Because of this, it is required for student athletes to consent to random drug testing, with the knowledge that the results of such testing will be released to parents or guardians, administrative officials, and the head coach. Do you think such testing should be required? (for the full report of procedures followed, click here)

I think teachers and students should have random screens.

I feel as a parent of teen twins that school should be a safe place for teens without worring about the pressure of drugs, random testing keep the teens that are real about not doing drugs free from other teens that choose too. Random test gives every teen the choice to know drugs are not a good choice and if you choose to do them you may not be able to play sports . I feel this is good there is no place for drugs in school or school activities. Testing shows love and corcern from the adults.
